Marlins Win Streak Ends At Three

The Florida Marlins had their three-game win streak snapped on Tuesday night as the New York Mets pulled out a 7-4 victory in 12 innings at Sun Life Stadium. There was a 1 hour, 14 minute rain delay prior to a game that lasted 4 hours and 29 minutes. Florida played a 14 inning game against Philadelphia this past Sunday. The Marlins never held the lead once, but tied the game several times. They mounted a two-run rally in the ninth to send the game into extra innings. Following a Greg Dobbs single and a Logan Morrison walk, Mike Cameron lashed a two-out line drive to deep left field scoring two runs to make it 4-4. The Mets broke the tie in the 12th inning. Angel Pagan hit a single then Jason Bay smashed a double down the right-field line after the ball hit the first base bag. Pagan scored on an RBI single up the middle by Nick Evans. Jose Reyes then singled to right scoring Bay from third base. Later Lucas Duda walked with the bases loaded and Evans scored. Florida Marlins prospect Matt Dominguez made his major league debut as a pinch hitter in the 10th inning and was hit by a pitch. The Marlins had a chance to win the game in the 11th inning but left men on 2nd and 3rd base with two out.
