Marlins Win In Ninth Over Atlanta
Second baseman Omar Infante capped a two-out rally in the ninth inning with a game-winning home run to lead the Florida Marlins over the Atlanta Braves 6-5 on Monday at Sun Life Stadium. Right fielder Mike Stanton hit two solo home runs off Mike Minor. It was Stanton's 33rd and 34th homers of the season. He smashed a two-out blast to left field in the first inning and to left center field in the third inning. Braves outfielder Jason Heyward(14) launched a live drive solo home run to right in the top of the sixth. Following a Stanton walk to lead off the bottom of the sixth, left fielder Logan Morrison(21) hit a no-out two-run homer run over the right field fence to increase their lead 4-1. Former Marlin second baseman Dan Uggla led off the seventh with a solo home run to right center field, his 35th this season. The Braves then got a two-out rally. Michael Bourn had an RBI infield single, Martin Prado followed with an RBI walk and Chipper Jones reached base on an error scoring pinch-runner Antoan Richardson. Following a two-out single by Emilio Bonifacio in the bottom of the ninth, Infante(6) finished the game with a home run to left field. Marlins pitcher Clay Hensley(6-6) got the win going two innings and striking out three. Braves reliever Craig Kimbrel(4-3) blew the save and took the loss.
