The Friday night District 15-7A game between the Plantation Colonels and the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders at Brian Piccolo Stadium has been rescheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday due to Hurricane Sandy. This matchup will most likely determine who becomes the district champion and runner-up.
Plantation(6-1, 3-0) has already clinched a district playoff spot based on their previous win over Cooper City. The Colonels come into the game with a six-game win streak after they lost their first game of the season. They wiped out Glades Central by 21 points during the second week and defeated McArthur 55-14 last week. The Colonels have Jovante Ham and Antonio Williams in the backfield to run the ball from scrimmage. Chris Lammons will led the passing attack with Solomon Loud and Jewison Dawkins as his targets.
St. Thomas Aquinas(5-2, 3-0) look to capture the district championship after Cooper City broke their 14-year consecutive reign last season. The Raiders won their first three games then lost two of their next three games against Don Bosco Prep of New Jersey and Miramar. They enter the game on a two-game winning streak with victories over South Broward 48-0 and Nova 63-13. John O'Korn will dictate the offense for St. Thomas Aquinas with speedy running backs Frederick Coppet and Marquis Magwood. Several receivers will combine for receptions downfield including Corey Holmes, Mark Barr, Chandler Dorrell, Dion Collier and Franklyn Richardson.
