The Miami Marlins came back from a two-run deficit as they got by the New York Mets 3-2 at Marlins Park on Monday night. Heath Bell(4-5) pitched a scoreless eighth inning for the victory and Steve Cishek got his 15th save of the season.
Wade LeBlanc went five innings for the Marlins and allowed one run on seven hits while Mets starter Jeurys Familia gave up only one hit in four innings.
New York put up one run each in the fifth and sixth innings. David Wright knocked in Ronny Cedeno from third with one out in the fifth on a base hit into center field. Mike Baxter pinched-hit in the sixth inning with one out against Tom Koehler and came up with a double to right field which brought in Kelly Shoppach.
Giancarlo Stanton led off the bottom of the sixth with a solo home run on the first pitch to left-center field off Manny Acosta. It was Stanton's 37th homer of the season. The Marlins tied the game at 2-2 in the seventh inning as Austin Kearns scored on a sacrifice fly by former Met Jose Reyes to center field off Jon Rauch.
Miami got the winning run against Ramon Ramirez during the eighth inning. Carlos Lee started with a walk and went to second on a wild pitch. Rob Brantly then doubled into left field for Lee to score.
