The Miami Heat played their final preseason game on Friday night and lost to the New Orleans Hornets 96-89 at American Airlines Arena. The Heat finished with a 4-4 preseason record. The Hornets outscored Miami 10-3 in the final five minutes of the game to take the win.
LeBron James played in 28 minutes and had 19 points, eight rebounds and four assists in the loss. Chris Bosh pulled a double-double with 21 points and ten rebounds in 34 minutes while Dwyane Wade dropped 15 points in 32 minutes. Anthony Davis led the Hornets with 24 points and 11 rebounds in 36 minutes played.
Miami opens the regular season and their NBA title defense on Tuesday night at home against the Boston Celtics. The Heat will raise their second championship banner prior to the start of the game.
