The Miami Heat played their second road game in consecutive nights as they lost to the Washington Wizards 101-94 in Kansas City on Wednesday night. Udonis Haslem and Mario Chalmers made their preseason debuts with Miami. The Heat return home to play the New Orleans Hornets on Friday night.
The Big Three did the bulk of the scoring for the Heat as Dwyane Wade had a team-high 23 points and seven rebounds in 33 minutes. Chris Bosh contributed 18 points and four rebounds in 25 minutes while LeBron James got 13 points, six assists and five rebounds in 29 minutes played.
A.J. Price led all Wizards starters with 11 points and five assists. Martell Webster sank 23 points in 24 minutes for the victory.
Miami opened the game on a 12-1 run, led 32-26 after one quarter and were up 61-47 at halftime. The Heat were still ahead 78-73 after three periods. James and Bosh did not play in the fourth quarter as Washington outscored the Heat 28-16 to win the contest.
