Florida Panthers Jonathan Huberdeau has been awarded the Calder Trophy for the top rookie player in the National Hockey League for the 2012-13 season. It was the first league trophy held by any Panthers player that was voted on. Pavel Bure received the Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy on two occasions when he led the NHL in most goals scored in a season back in 1999-2000 and 2000-01.
Huberdeau played all 48 games in the short season for the Cats as he compiled 14 goals and 17 assists for 31 points. He was selected by Florida during the 2011 NHL Draft in the first round as the third overall pick.
