The Eastern Conference Finals will go the complete distance as the Indiana Pacers stopped the Miami Heat 91-77 in game 6 on Saturday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The 77 points for the Heat was a regular season and playoff low for the team. Game 7 will be played on Monday night in Miami.
LeBron James led the charge for the Heat with 29 points, seven rebounds and six assists in 42 minutes. Dwyane Wade and Mario Chalmers both added 10 points each. Chris Bosh was held to five points in 31 minutes.
Paul George had a team-high 28 points with eight rebounds and five assists in 43 minutes for the Pacers. Two starting players for Indiana had a double-double for the team. Roy Hibbert dropped down 24 points with 11 rebounds in 42 minutes while David West got 11 points with 14 rebounds in 36 minutes. George Hill contributed 16 points and six assists.
Miami scored the first five points of the game as they were up 23-21 after one quarter. After the Heat put in the first basket in the second quarter, the Pacers ripped off ten consecutive points to go ahead 31-25. Miami crawled back and led 40-39 at halftime.
Indiana blasted out on a 25-8 run at the beginning of the third quarter and led 68-55 at the end of the period. The Heat made a 13-4 run early in the final quarter as they were behind 72-68 with 5:52 remaining. The Pacers piled on nine straight points and increased their lead to double digits.
