Marlins Swept By Phillies

The Miami Marlins lost the final game of a three-game series to the Philadelphia Phillies 6-1 on Wednesday at Citizens Bank Park. The Phillies were able to sweep the Marlins as the Fish fell to 6-24 on the road.
Philadelphia(30-30) got the initial lead with a two-out rally in the second inning against Jacob Turner. John Mayberry Jr., who last night became the first player ever to hit two extra inning home runs which included a walk-off grand slam homer, singled to left field. Erik Kratz knocked him in with a double down the left-field line.
Derek Dietrich blasted a one-out solo homer to right field off Cole Hamels on a 0-1 pitch in the fourth inning for Miami(16-44). It was his fourth home run this season.
The Phillies broke the game open in the seventh inning with five runs off A.J. Ramos. With one out, Delmon Young singled to left and Ben Revere singled into right field. After a Michael Young fly out to right field, Jimmy Rollins drove in pinch-runner Cesar Hernandez with a base hit to center field. Ryan Howard ripped a triple to deep center field to score Revere and Rollins. Domonic Brown pounded a 3-1 pitch for a two-run homer to right field and a Phillies 6-1 lead. It was his 18th home run in 2013.
Turner pitched six innings and gave up one run on four hits. Hamels upped his record to 2-9 as he allowed one run on four hits in seven innings and struck out 11. Ramos moved to 0-2 as he surrendered five runs on five hits in one inning.
