Atalaya Capital Management placed a credit bid last month to acquire 640 Sports WMEN-AM from James Crystal Enterprises. Jorgenson Broadcast Brokerage conducted the auction on March 2 at their offices in Fort Lauderdale for the United States Southern District Bankruptcy Court.
The license of the station is expected to be transferred to a new broadcasting group headed by Mark Jorgenson. 640 Sports will continue with their sports format which was launched in March 2008. Palm Beach Broadcasting, which is a subsidiary of Digity Media owned by Dean Goodman, will handle sales for the station.
