The Atlanta Braves were able to sweep a three-game series as they got a 2-0 shutout victory over the Miami Marlins at Marlins Park on Wednesday night. Miami(0-3), who were held to six hits in this game, will host their cross-state rivals the Tampa Bay Rays this weekend. Ichiro Suzuki picked up his first hit as a Marlin on a bunt single as a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning.
Atlanta(3-0) compiled the only two runs of the contest during the seventh inning against Tom Koehler. Freddie Freeman led off with a base hit into right field. A.J. Pierzynski followed with a two-run homer to right field to give the Braves the lead.
