Former South Florida television sportscaster John Henry Smith will lose his position as a sports anchor and sports reporter at Al Jazeera America. The organization announced that they will cease operations in a couple of months.
Smith once was a sports anchor at WPLG-TV Channel 10 in Miami during the 2000s. He moved on to WVUE-TV in New Orleans as a sports director and sports anchor. Smith followed that as a sports anchor at Comcast Sportsnet Bay Area in San Francisco. He had a stint as a sports anchor at News 14 Carolina in Raleigh prior to his arrival in Miami.
