Former South Florida sports writer Rachel Nichols will begin to host NBA The Jump program weekdays on ESPN as of February 18. She began her second stint at ESPN in December 2015 and her first tenure in the organization was from 2004 until 2013 as a television sports reporter and sports columnist.
She recently was at Turner Sports from January 2013 to late last year as a sideline reporter for NBA and college basketball games. Nichols also hosted a studio show on CNN called Upgraded With Rachel Nichols from September 2013 until October 2014.
Nichols, a Northwestern University grad, previously worked as a sports reporter for the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel from 1995 to 1996. She then went to the Washington Post and was employed as a sports columnist until 2004.
