The Florida Panthers have extended the contract of head coach Gerard Gallant for another two seasons. He had 18 months left on his original contract and is signed through the end of the 2018-19 season. Panthers general manager Dale Tallon also signed a contract extension with the club until the end of the same time period.
Gallant joined the Florida Panthers prior to the 2014-15 regular season following a stint as an assistant coach with the Montreal Canadiens. He once was a head coach for the Columbus Blue Jackets during the 2000's.
