The Florida Panthers have signed center Aleksander Barkov to a six-year contract. He was in his third year of an entry-level contract with the club.
Barkov was drafted second overall by Florida in the 2013 NHL Draft and never played a game in the minor leagues. He has 12 goals and 18 assists in 30 games this season for the Panthers. Barkov has compiled 36 goals and 58 assists for 90 points in 163 career NHL games.
