Bobby Bowden Passes Away

Former Florida State University head coach Bobby Bowden passed away on Sunday at the age of 91. He led the Seminoles to two national championships in 1993 and 1999. Bowden coached FSU in numerous rivalry games against the University of Miami Hurricanes and University of Florida Gators.
He was the head coach of Florida State from 1976 to 2009. Bowden finished with a 377-129-4 overall record in college football and a 21-10-1 record in bowl games.
Bowden had recruited players from the South Florida region during his long reign as a college football head coach. He did come out of retirement and coached the North Team in the Battle of Florida College All-Star Game against former University of Miami and Florida Atlantic University head coach Howard Schnellenberger at FAU Stadium in January 2012. Bowden's squad ended up winning the contest 51-3.
