Marlins Snap Losing Streak

The Miami Marlins snapped an eight-game losing streak with a 4-3 win in 10 innings against the Washington Nationals on Wednesday night at loanDepot park. Both clubs will finish off the three-game series on Thursday.
Miami(52-75) moved ahead 1-0 in the bottom of the second. Jorge Alfaro drove in Brian Anderson on a single to left field.
In the sixth inning, the Marlins made it 2-0. Anderson socked a solo home run to center field on a 0-1 pitch for his seventh homer of the year.
Washington(54-71) overtook the Fish with three runs in the top of the seventh. Josh Bell blasted a two-run homer to center field on a 0-2 count with Alcides Escobar aboard. It was the 21st home run of the season for Bell. Yadiel Hernandez followed with a solo home run to left-center field on a 1-1 pitch and the Nationals took a 3-2 lead.
The Marlins began the bottom of the seventh with a triple to right field by Magneuris Sierra. He would score on a double by Jesus Aguilar into the right-center field gap to tie it up 3-3. Aguilar picked up his National League leading 89th run batted in and collected his 21st double of the 2021 campaign.
Miami loaded the bases in the bottom of the tenth. Alfaro singled up the middle and Jesus Sanchez crossed the plate. It was the fifth walk-off victory for the Marlins and their first since July 7 against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
