Miguel Cabrera Hits 500th Home Run

Former Florida Marlins player Miguel Cabrera hit his 500th career home run in the majors on Sunday for the Detroit Tigers in Toronto. It was a 1-1 pitch to right-center field during the sixth inning.
He is the 28th player in baseball history to accomplish that feat. The Tigers ended up winning that contest 5-3 over the Blue Jays.
Cabrera played for the Marlins franchise from 2003 to 2007 and helped the club win their last World Series title in 2003. He was traded to the Tigers along with Dontrelle Willis on December 4, 2007.
He helped the Tigers capture the American League title in 2012. Cabrera was the American League Most Valuable Player in 2012 and 2013. He became the first player since Carl Yastrzemski in 1967 to win the Triple Crown during the 2012 season. Cabrera has won four American League batting titles and is an 11-time all-star.
