Marlins Swept By Reds

The Cincinnati Reds pulled off a four-game sweep of the Miami Marlins with a 3-1 victory on Sunday at Great American Ball Park. The Reds passed the San Diego Padres for the second wild-card spot in the National League. The Marlins, who have lost seven straight games, return home after a short road trip and host the Washington Nationals on Tuesday.
Cincinnati(69-57) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the opening frame. Tyler Naquin led off and lifted a solo home run to right-center field on a 2-2 pitch.
It was tied up by Miami(51-74) in the fourth inning. Jesus Sanchez sliced a double down the left-field line for Jazz Chisholm Jr. to score.
In the fifth inning, the Reds regained the lead 2-1. Mike Moustakas smashed a solo homer on a 1-2 count to right field.
The Red Legs expanded it to 3-1 in the bottom of the eighth. Naquin connected with his second home run of the contest. It was hit over the right-center field wall on a 0-2 pitch for his 18th homer of the year.
