Columbus Glides By Miami Northwestern

The defending FHSAA Class 4M state champions the Columbus Explorers knocked off the Miami Northwestern Bulls 24-7 on Friday night. These have been two of the finest Dade County high schools on the gridiron over the last eight years.
Columbus(5-0) got a field goal two minutes into the second quarter. Miami Northwestern(1-4) answered back three minutes later with a score and they had a 7-3 halftime advantage. The Explorers compiled three touchdowns in the second half for a 21-point margin.
The Bulls will visit West Palm Beach and face the undefeated Cardinal Newman Crusaders in a week. The Explorers will remain home next week and take on the Miami Stingarees.
