The New York Rangers have hired Jacques Martin as their new assistant coach and replaces Lindy Ruff. He was recently an assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Penguins until earlier this month and contributed to their two Stanley Cup titles in 2016 and 2017.
Martin was the Florida Panthers head coach from May 2004 to April 2008. He also was the Panthers general manager for three seasons from 2006-07 until 2008-09. The club never made any postseason appearances during his reign.
