No Local Connections On Phil Steele Cover

     The annual Phil Steele College Football Preview magazine did not had any player with a South Florida college or high school connection on their cover. The magazine was released in July which is much later than it usually is due to the coronavirus pandemic. 

     The publication came out with only one edition in 2020 with just a national cover. They had released several covers based on the conferences and geographic areas in the country over the past decade. It would include a state of Florida and a Southeastern Conference players magazine cover. 

     Many local connections have appeared on the Phil Steele magazine cover. They include Jacory Harris(Miami Northwestern/Miami) in 2010, Geno Smith(Miramar/West Virginia) in 2011 and 2012, Jon Bostic(Palm Beach Central/Florida) in 2012. Tre Mason(Park Vista/Auburn) in 2013 and Duke Johnson(Miami Norland/Miami) in 2013. 

     Amari Cooper(Miami Northwestern/Alabama) showed up in 2013 and 2014, Jake Rudock(St. Thomas Aquinas/Iowa/Michigan) in 2014, Alex Collins(South Plantation/Arkansas) in 2015, Dalvin Cook(Miami Central/Florida State) in 2016 and Lamar Jackson(Boynton Beach/Louisville) in 2016 and 2017. Other players included Nick Bosa(St. Thomas Aquinas/Ohio State) who appeared in 2018 and Jonathan Garvin(Lake Worth/Miami) along with C.J. Henderson (Columbus/Florida) in 2019.
