560 The Joe WQAM-AM remained at a 0.7 in the month. The Miami Dolphins regular season began while the University of Miami Hurricanes football team started off badly losing two of their first three games. WQAM replaced ESPN Radio after two years on their airwaves with CBS Sports Radio. It aired during the weekday midday shift with Jim Rome, evenings, overnights and weekends. Alex Donno returned to WQAM as a Miami Dolphins postgame studio host.
Sports Talk 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM rose from a 0.6 to a 0.7 in the period. They continue to be the flagship radio station of the Miami Heat. Mike Ingles announced his retirement as the radio play-by-play announcer of the Miami Heat after 23 seasons and was replaced by Jason Jackson.
Miami Sports 940 WINZ-AM moved up from at a 0.1 to a 0.2. It was the final complete month for Miami Sports 940 with all the tremendous drastic changes at that radio station. They were about to implement their new brand Fox Sports 940 Miami. In addition, it was the last complete period for Jeff DeForrest on the morning show and The Greek in the mid-afternoon shift. The Miami Marlins were almost eliminated from postseason contention.
