Marlins Mash Phillies

The Miami Marlins canned the Philadelphia Phillies 5-0 at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday night. It was the first contest of a five-game road swing for the Fish.
Miami(45-75) strolled out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first. Jonah Bride knocked in Jake Burger with a base hist into left field. Otto Lopez later singled into right field to score Jesus Sachez.
The Fish increased it to 3-0 in the top of the third. Burger blasted a 3-2 pitch over the left-field wall for his 23rd homer of the season. It was Burger's first time of four consecutive games with a home run.
Philadelphia(69-50) surrendered another run in the seventh inning and trailed 4-0. Xavier Edwads stole third base and a throwing error by Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto had him advance to home.
It became 5-0 for the Marlins in the top of the ninth. Jesus Sanchez powered a solo home run to right field on the first pitch for his 15th homer of the campaign.
