West Boca Raton Stuffs Benjamin

The 2024 high school football regular season began in Palm Beach County on Thursday night as the West Boca Raton Bulls overcome the Benjamin Buccaneers 14-13 in Boca Raton. Both high schools reached the FHSAA Playoffs last year.
Benjamin(0-1) had a handle during the first half of play. Running back Phoenix Doughia scored on a 45-yard run when he sprinted up the middle with 43 seconds to go in the first quarter. Doughia later got into the end zone untouched from 11 yards away at the 4:00 mark of the second quarter for a 13-0 lead.
West Boca Raton(1-0) got on the scoreboard with 1:20 remaining in the third quarter and closed it to 13-7. Running back Javian Mallory raced in from four yards out through the left side of the line.
The Bulls got their first lead of the contest 14-13 with 2:19 left in the fourth quarter. Mallory rushed around the left end for the touchdown from five yards.
