St. Thomas Aquinas Takes Bishop Verot

The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders defeated the Bishop Verot Vikings 37-14 in a kickoff classic at Fort Myers on Thursday night. It was a rare preseason road game for the Raiders.
St. Thomas Aquinas became the first Florida high school football program to win an unprecedented fifth consecutive FHSAA state title last year. STA has captured a state-record 15 FHSAA football championships.
The Raiders got a field goal in the first quarter and added 27 more points during the second quarter for a 30-0 halftime lead. St. Thomas Aquinas reached the end zone early in the third quarter to lead 37-0 and a running clock was implemented. Bishop Verot scored 14 points in the remainder of the second half.
St. Thomas Aquinas begins the 2024 campaign at home next Saturday against Bishop Gorman. The Vikings will host Jesuit next Friday.
