The Miami Heat finished a four-game road swing with a 100-85 win over the Toronto Raptors at Air Canada Centre on Sunday. It was their tenth straight win over the Raptors. The Heat have the best record in the Eastern Conference after Sunday which means head coach Erik Spoelstra will guide the East team in the NBA All-Star Game in Houston on February 17.
Miami(30-14) held the lead throughout the first quarter as they scored the first six points and led 16-6 just six minutes into the game. They were up 24-21 after one quarter. Toronto(17-31) outscored the Heat 29-20 in the second quarter and were ahead 50-44 at halftime.
The Heat reversed the tide as they began the second half on a 15-4 spurt and led 59-54 midway through the period. They were ahead 71-67 after three quarters. Miami would not relinquished the lead in the fourth quarter as the Raptors were down 86-83 with 4:20 left. The Heat knocked down the next nine points and wrapped the game up on a 14-2 run.
Chris Bosh, who has not lost against his former team since he left as a free agent after the 2009-10 season, had 28 points and five rebounds in 28 minutes. LeBron James added 30 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in 40 minutes while Dwyane Wade drained 23 points in 32 minutes for Heat.
Rudy Gay, who played in his second game with Toronto following a trade from the Memphis Grizzlies, dropped down 29 points in 32 minutes. DeMar DeRozan contributed 27 points in 44 minutes and Kyle Lowry had 10 points in 31 minutes.
