The Miami Heat won their ninth consecutive game as they handled the Chicago Bulls 86-67 on Thursday night at United Center. LeBron James dropped down a double-double with 26 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists in 34 minutes. Miami(38-14) improved to 15-11 on the road and face the 76ers in Philadelphia on Saturday night.
Neither team led by more than six points in the opening period as they were tied 22-22 after one quarter. The Heat began the second quarter on a 16-6 rally and were up 45-35 at halftime.
Chicago(31-23) were down by double digits for most of the period and fell behind 65-54 after three quarters. The Bulls never came closer than nine points in the fourth quarter as the Heat extended their lead up to 20 points at 80-60 with 4:26 left.
Dwyane Wade had 17 points, eight rebounds and five assists in 37 minutes for the Heat while Chris Bosh added 12 points in 32 minutes. Ray Allen came off the bench and knocked down 11 points in 29 minutes.
The Bulls were led by Carlos Boozer who had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds in 33 minutes. Joakim Noah contributed 11 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in 38 minutes while Nate Robinson had a team-high 14 points in 29 minutes.
