Marc Hochman Goes To WQAM

Marc Hochman did his final morning show with Jonathan Zaslow last Friday on December 6 at 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM and 104.3 The Ticket WAXY-FM. He leaves both stations and will join Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM on April 1 after a 90-day non-compete clause in his contract with Lincoln Financial Media expires. It is expected that he will work the afternoon drive show at WQAM and will compete against former show colleagues Dan LeBatard and Jon Weiner, a.k.a. Stugotz, at The Ticket.
With the addition of Hochman, WQAM will make several lineup changes in the next couple of months. The first step the station took was to let go John Renshaw, a.k.a. The Freak, from the midday shift. Renshaw was hired by former program director Jorge Sedano in early August 2012 as a weekend host. South Florida Sports Coverage broke the story on March 6 one day after Dan Sileo was fired that Renshaw would be elevated to the midday position. Due to prior work commitments in Louisville, he would not show up at that spot until late April.
It will continue a domino effect there as Channing Crowder will return back to the early afternoon co-host position with Adam Kuperstein in a couple of weeks. Crowder worked with Kuperstein from October 2012 until late August 2013. He has been the afternoon co-host with Brandon Guzio since they replaced the departed Sedano since early September.
This leaves a hole in the midday spot that program director Andy King will have to fill. Candidates on the staff that may be considered for the shift will include Guzio, current early afternoon co-host Curtis Stevenson, weekend host/sports anchor Alex Donno, morning sports anchor Greg Likens, Miami Hurricanes Radio Network studio host Danny Rabinowitz, weekend co-hosts The Sports Brothers, weekend host Steve White and local broadcasting legend/weekend host Footy.
