The Miami Marlins have traded first baseman Logan Morrison to the Seattle Mariners for pitcher Carter Capps. Morrison made his major league debut with the Florida Marlins in 2010 as a left fielder. He has six home runs, 36 RBI and a .242 batting average in 85 games with the Fish last season.
Morrison, who has been outspoken on social media about Marlins management since the 2011 season when he was sent to the minor leagues, had 42 home runs along with 162 RBI and a .249 batting average in 363 games during a four-season stint with the Fish.
Capps was 3-3 with a 5.49 ERA and went 59 innings in 53 games with the Mariners in 2013. He broke into the majors with Seattle in 2012, had a 0-0 record and pitched 25 innings as he made 18 appearances.
