940 The Sports Animal WINZ-AM has parted ways with their mid-afternoon co-host Phil Domanic, a.k.a. Dizz. His last show was on November 18 when he made a derogatory comment about a Dolphin player.
Former Miami Dolphins running back Troy Stradford, who has been Domanic's co-host, carried the program by himself for the remainder of the week. The station began to pipe in the Primetime Show with Steve Hartman and Pat O'Brien from Fox Sports Radio on November 25. They will be on the local airwaves until the end of December. Stradford is expected to resume the program with a new co-host at the start of 2014.
Domanic joined 940 The Sports Animal in January 2012 with Larry Milian to form The Amigo and Dizz Show during the 3 to 5p.m. spot. They added Stradford as a part-time co-host in November 2012 and he was promoted as a full-time member of the program this past January. Milian left the show at the end of August.
The first time that Domanic was heard locally was at 640 Sports WMEN-AM. He co-hosted a Saturday late morning show with Larry Milian called the New York Sports Report from late June 2012 to late December 2012.
