The Dwyer Panthers will host the Fort Lauderdale Flying L's on Friday night at Blum Stadium in a Class 7A regional quarterfinal. It will be the first playoff meeting between both schools.
Dwyer(9-0) remains undefeated and captured the District 13-7A title. They have compiled four shutouts during the regular season and have not allowed more than eight points in a game. The Panthers have outscored their opponents 333-32 this season.
Senior quarterback Todd Centeio calls the signals on offense for the Panthers. He made the FHSAA playoffs last year with Dwyer and the previous two seasons while with Royal Palm Beach.
Running back Jakari Moses will be counted on to carry the ball on most occasions along with Cedric Tucker and Reginald Gadson. Centeio has targets to throw the ball to which includes wide receivers Luke Tommie, Dy'laan Lee, Jordan Mosely, Oyeh Lurry-Davis and Wesley Oldham.
Fort Lauderdale(4-4) make a rare appearance in the FHSAA playoffs over the past decade and they did show up in the postseason in 2013. They went 0-4 against schools who went to the playoffs this season.
