ACC To Eliminate Divisions

The Atlantic Coast Conference will eliminate their two divisions in football beginning in the 2023 season. This year will be the final season for the Atlantic Division and Coastal Division.
All 14 ACC schools will compete in the same division as of next year. The top two teams in the standings will play against each other for the Atlantic Coast Conference championship.
The University of Miami will play ACC football versus their Coastal Division rivals for the final time on yearly basis in 2022. The Hurricanes currently have North Carolina, Duke, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Georgia Tech and Pitt in their division.
A new scheduling format will be implemented by the Atlantic Coast Conference. It will be a 3-5-5 structure for all ACC schools. The Hurricanes will play Florida State, Boston College and Louisville every season on a regular basis beginning in 2023. Miami will play five ACC schools in consecutive years in a home-and-away games in 2023 and 2024. They will face the other five ACC schools in the same scheduling format in 2025 and 2026.
