Marlins Climb Over Rockies

The Miami Marlins chipped at a four-run deficit to top the Colorado Rockies 9-8 at loanDepot park on Tuesday night. The Marlins started a six-game homestand following a 10-game road trip.
Colorado(30-38) scored four runs between the second and fourth innings. Miami(30-36) came back and compiled five runs in the bottom of the fifth to go up 5-4. After the Rockies put up one more run in the top of the fifth, the Marlins answered back with three runs in the bottom of the frame.
The Fish moved ahead 9-8 in the eighth inning. Garrett Cooper doubled into the left-center field gap for Nick Fortes to score the winning run.
