Rickie Ricardo Added To New York Yankees Radio Network

John Sterling will cut back from some of his road play-by-play announcing duties on the New York Yankees Radio Network for the rest of the 2022 regular season. He will continue to broadcast games in New York City, Boston and Baltimore.
Several people will fill in for Sterling on radio broadcasts. Rickie Ricardo was brought in for eight contests during the 2020 Major League Baseball season because Sterling had contracted COVID-19.
Ricardo was a sports reporter and WZTA-FM morning host for Clear Channel Miami during the mid 2000s. He moved on from Miami and joined the Philadelphia Phillies as their Spanish language radio play-by-play announcer from 2007 to 2013.
He became the Philadelphia Eagles Spanish language radio voice in the late 2000s and currently holds that spot. Ricardo later added duties as the Spanish language radio play-by-play voice of the New York Yankees in 2014 and has done that job for the past nine seasons. He also hosts sports talk programs on Sports Radio 94 WIP-FM in Philadelphia and Sports Radio 66 WFAN-AM in New York City.
