Mets Down Marlins

The New York Mets defeated the Miami Marlins 5-3 on Friday night at loanDepot park. Both teams med each other last weekend in a four-game series.
In the first inning, New York(46-26) made it 1-0. Francisco Lindor lifted a solo home run barely over the center-field wall for his 12th home run of the season.
Miami(32-37) tied it 1-1 in the bottom of the first. Garrett Cooper drove in Jazz Chisholm Jr. with a base hit into center field.
Both clubs scored in the fifth inning. The Mets retook the lead 2-1 on a solo home run by Mark Canha to left field on a 2-2 pitch for his sixth homer this year. The Marlins evened it up 2-2 as Jon Berti scored on a ground out to second by Jorge Soler.
New York got their third lead of the contest with three runs in the top of the seventh. Lindor doubled into right-center field for Tomas Nido, Brandon Nimmo and Starling Marte to score.
