Joey Wendle Released By Mets

     Former Miami Marlins infielder Joey Wendle has been released by the New York Mets. He signed as a free agent with the club last November. Wendle had a .222 batting average in 18 games this season with the Mets. 
     Wendle was with the Marlins in 2022 and 2023 and contributed to them reaching the National League postseason last year. He had five home runs, 52 runs batted in and .238 batting average in 213 contests with Miami over two seasons.
