Mets Mow Down Marlins

The New York Mets avoided a three-game series sweep with a 7-4 victory over the Miami Marlins at loanDepot park on Sunday. The Marlins had their season-high, four-game winning streak snapped.
New York(21-25) led the whole entire game. They jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first. Tyrone Taylor knocked in Francisco Lindor and Brandon Nimmo on a double into deep center. Three batters later, Harrison Bader singled into center field to score D.J. Stewart and Taylor.
Miami(15-33) got two runs in the bottom of the second and were down 4-2. Dane Myers powered a two-run home to left field on a 0-1 pitch with Emmanuel Rivera aboard. It was the first home run of the 2024 campaign for Myers.
It became 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh. Christian Bethancourt sliced a solo home run to right field on a 1-1 count for his first homer in a Marlins uniform.
The Mets added three more runs in the ninth inning for a 7-3 lead. Nimmo smacked a two-run homer to right-center field on a 1-1 pitch with Lindor on base for his seventh homer of the year. Brett Baty later drove in former Marlin Starling Marte with a base hit through the right side.
