Marlins Streak By Rockies

The Miami Marlins edged the Colorado Rockies 5-4 in 10 innings at loanDepot park on Thursday. The Marlins extended their winning streak to a season-high three games.
It was the first series that Miami has won this year. The Fish were able to sweep their first series in the 2024 campaign. Both teams have the two worst records in the National League.
Miami(9-24) took a 2-0 lead in the opening frame. Jazz Chisholm Jr. drove in Luis Arraez on a base hit into left field. Two batters later, Jesus Sanchez hit a sacrifice fly to right field and Bryan De La Cruz scored.
Colorado(7-24) answered back with three runs in the top of the second to take a 3-2 lead. Former Marlins Jacob Stallings blasted a three-run homer to left field on a 1-1 count with Elehuris Montero and Brendan Rogers aboard. It was Stallings first home run with his new club.
The Marlins reclaimed the lead 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth. Josh Bell smashed a solo home run on the first pitch to right field for his fourth homer of the season. Nick Fortes later singled up the middle to score Dane Myers.
In the fifth inning, the Rockies evened it up 4-4. Ezequiel Tovar grounded into a double play and Jake Cave crossed the plate.
The contest would go into extra innings. The Fish won the game in the bottom of the 10th when Sanchez knocked in Arraez with a single down the left-field line.
