Sam Bennett raced down the left side of the ice and took a shot from the left circle which was saved by Igor Shesterkin. Bennett poked in the rebound from the left of the crease for his fourth goal of the postseason.
The Panthers gained their first lead of the contest 2-1 on the power play with 7:44 to go in the second. Aleksander Barkov pushed it from the right wing and then Matthew Tkachuk passed from the right goal line. Carter Verhaeghe batted in a backhand shot from the top of the crease for his ninth goal in the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Tkachuk set a new Panthers franchise record with his 14th playoff assist in one postseason.
