Dodgers Slam Marlins

The Los Angeles Dodgers rolled by the Miami Marlins 8-2 at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday night. The Dodgers are now on a six-game winning streak and have been victorious in 13 of their past 15 games. The Marlins, who have lost four of their last five games since the Luis Arraez trade, will finish their six-game road swing on Wednesday.
Miami(10-28) struck on the first pitch of the contest to go up 1-0 in the top of the first. Jazz Chisholm Jr. led off with a solo home run to right-center field for his fifth homer of the year.
Los Angeles(25-13) bounced back with four runs in the bottom of the first for a 4-1 lead. Max Muncy blasted a grand-slam homer to left field on a 0-1 count with Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman and Will Smith aboard. It was Muncy's ninth home run of the season and his seventh career grand-slam home run, tied for the most grand-slam homers in the majors since 2019.
The Dodgers chalked four more runs in the bottom of the third and had a seven-run margin. Andy Pages drove in Will Smith on a sacrifice fly to right field. Muncy then scored on a throwing error by Marlins catcher Christian Bethancourt. Gavin Lux followed with a two-run homer to right field on a 2-1 pitch for his first home run the campaign. Teoscar Hernandez scored in front of him on the play.
The Fish made it 8-2 in the sixth inning. Bryan De La Cruz collected his seventh home run this year on a 1-1 count to left field for a solo shot.
