Heat Championship Parade

The Miami Heat celebrated their second NBA championship with an outdoor parade and indoor celebration in downtown Miami on Monday. The parade began in Little Havana down Calle Ocho and went east to the downtown business district. It then turned north on Brickell Avenue/Biscayne Boulevard and went up to the front of the American Airlines Arena. The outdoor festivities lasted almost one hour while the celebration inside the arena attended by over 15,000 people went for over one hour.
The 2012 parade and celebration was certainly more organized than the one in 2006. The weather was better for the fan base outside this year being partly cloudy and windy while it was a very hot humid day back in 2006. In addition, the team did not take over an hour after the parade to speak with the media only inside the arena, while fans were sweltering in the heat, before celebrating in a ceremony outside the building.
