The Miami Heat were defeated by the Toronto Raptors 116-89 in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals at Air Canada Centre on Sunday. The playoff matchup between Miami and their former teammate LeBron James will not happen this year. The Raptors will face the Cavaliers in Cleveland on Tuesday to begin the Eastern Conference Finals.
Toronto got out to a 14-9 margin six minutes in and led 25-24 after one quarter. The Raptors got their biggest lead of the first half 46-39 with 3:16 left and were ahead 53-47 at halftime.
Miami fell behind by double digits early in the third quarter and they were down 75-58 with 5:12 remaining in the period. The Raptors maintained their gap and led 86-78 after three quarters. Toronto extended their lead back up to 17 points at 97-80 with 8:59 to go in the fourth quarter and cruised easily to the victory.
