The Fort Lauderdale Strikers continued their momentum away from home as they beat the Ottawa Fury FC 2-1 on Friday night at TD Place. The Strikers extended their winning streak on the road to three games which set a new franchise record since they reemerged in the NASL several years ago.
Fort Lauderdale(3-3-2) got out to a 1-0 margin just eight minutes in when Maicon Santos scored. Giuseppe Gentile extended their lead to 2-0 during the 65th minute.
Ottawa(2-2-4) got the scoreboard and closed the gap in the 80th minute as Carl Haworth put in a penalty kick.
