Dale Tallon has returned to his position as general manager of the Florida Panthers. He replaces Tom Rowe who took over the position in May 2016. Tallon held the general manager role with the club from May 2010 to 2016. He will still keep the title of president of hockey operations.
Rowe loses his position as general manager and interim head coach. He will remain with the organization in hockey operations as a special advisor. It has been a fast ride for Rowe in the last 16 months. He was named assistant general manager in January 2016 and got elevated to general manager four months later. Rowe was named interim head coach in late November 2016 when they let go head coach Gerard Gallant.
