Miami Hurricanes tight end David Njoku was chosen 29th overall by the Cleveland Browns at the 2017 NFL Draft held in Philadelphia. He was the only local player selected in the first round of the draft.
Njoku was in the program with the Canes for three years. He had his best season as a redshirt sophomore in 2016 as he compiled 43 receptions for 698 yards and eight touchdowns.
