The Miami Heat remained in the Eastern Conference playoff race with a win over the Washington Wizards at Verizon Center on Saturday night. The Heat have won two of their last three games and climbed to tie the Chicago Bulls for eighth place in the Eastern Conference.
Washington(48-32) led 29-28 after one quarter and were tied with Miami(39-41) at halftime 52-52. The Heat moved ahead 78-74 after three quarters and stayed again in the final minute of the contest.
Hassan Whiteside got a double-double with a game-high 30 points and 12 rebounds for the Heat. Tyler Johnson added 19 points and Goran Dragic poured in 18 points. John Wall compiled 16 points and eight assists for the Wizards.
