The Miami Heat returned from a three-game road swing and were shocked by the New York Knicks 98-94 at American Airlines Arena on Friday. It was the second game of a home-and-home series between both clubs. The Heat had their two-game winning streak snapped.
New York(29-47) started the contest on a 15-4 spurt as they moved out to a 33-29 lead after one quarter and led 59-55 at halftime. Miami(37-39) cut into the margin slightly and were down 77-75 after three quarters. The Knicks stayed ahead down the final stretch of the final quarter.
Goran Dragic added a team-high 22 points for the Heat while Hassan Whiteside compiled a double-double with 17 points and 16 rebounds. Kristaps Porzingis led New York with 22 points.
