The Miami Heat stopped a three-game losing streak and easily handled the Brooklyn Nets 120-105 at Barclays Center on Wednesday night. Miami led a game from wire-to-wire for the first time since March 10 against Washington. The Heat are in the middle of a two-game road swing and return to South Florida on Sunday to face LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Miami(6-8) dominated the first quarter and led 37-21. Brooklyn(6-9) cut a little bit into the margin and were down 61-49 at the half. The Heat surged ahead 90-72 after three quarters. The Nets cut the lead down to single digits with a 14-3 run to make it 105-97 with 4:28 left in the fourth quarter.
Tyler Johnson connected with a season-high 24 points and Goran Dragic knocked in 21 points for the Heat. Josh Richardson placed in 15 points while Hassan Whiteside got a double-double with 14 points along with 10 rebounds. Spencer Dinwiddie had a team-high 18 points for Brooklyn.
