Two former Palm Beach County high school football players signed as undrafted free agents and will head into the National Football League. They are wide receiver Johnnie Dixon and linebacker Te'von Coney.
Dixon was with the Dwyer Panthers while in high school and helped the school capture the 2013 FHSAA Class 7A state championship. He played five seasons with the Ohio State University Buckeyes, participated on three Big 10 championship teams and won the 2014 CFP National Championship over Oregon. He compiled 67 catches for 1,146 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns with the Buckeyes. Dixon will be joining the Houston Texans.
Coney attended Palm Beach Gardens and contributed to the Gators success on the field. He went on to the University of Notre Dame and helped the school reach the 2018 CFP national semifinal game against the eventual national champion Clemson. Coney signed a contract with the Oakland Raiders.
